The Abu Ghazaleh family acquired Fresh Del Monte Produce in 1996 and took the company public on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) the following year. As a family, it retains the majority shareholding. Amir Abu Ghazaleh has served on the company’s Board of Directors since 1997.
